TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved….Mark 16:16 (NIV)
TODAY’S. WORD
If there is one thing everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour must aspire and strive to attain, it is to get to a place of total and complete belief in the word of God.
The Christian faith is predicated on principles of life given by God and He wants us to live our lives based on His principles. In Acts 10:34 we read that, Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism. God is not a respecter of persons but of principles, His principles and they are available to every believer.
One fundamental principle is that we must have faith in God. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, God grants unto each of us the same measure of faith.
In Acts 12:3, we read that, For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Our faith in God can grow, but the foundation of any growth is that we embrace the core belief that our salvation means we have been saved from our past, we are saved now and we will be saved forever.
This means that when the contrary begins to happen in our lives, we simply must remember this, God has already saved us through the finished and complete work of Christ on the cross and we must let our faith lead us to a place where we rise above the situation.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord God Almighty who reigns above the earth and who we can compare to no other, we give You praise and offer You our worship this morning. Father, grant us the grace as believers to grasp the truth of our faith in its simplicity. Help us O Lord, to understand that of a truth, we are saved. In Jesus name. Amen.
